ܐܢ ܒܟܠ ܠܫܢ ܕܒܢܝܢܫܐ ܐܡܠܠ ܘܒܕܡܠܐܟܐ ܘܚܘܒܐ ܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܒܝ ܗܘܝܬ ܠܝ ܢܚܫܐ ܕܙܐܡ ܐܘ ܨܨܠܐ ܕܝܗܒ ܩܠܐ

If I speak with the languages of men and of angels, but don’t have love, I have become sounding brass, or a clanging cymbal.

ܘܐܢ ܬܗܘܐ ܒܝ ܢܒܝܘܬܐ ܘܐܕܥ ܐܪܙܐ ܟܠܗܘܢ ܘܟܠܗ ܝܕܥܬܐ ܘܐܢ ܬܗܘܐ ܒܝ ܟܠܗ ܗܝܡܢܘܬܐ ܐܝܟܢܐ ܕܛܘܪܐ ܐܫܢܐ ܘܚܘܒܐ ܠܝܬ ܒܝ ܠܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܡܕܡ
mdm hwyth l' by lyth wkhwb' 'shn' dTwr' 'ykn' hymnwth' klh by thhw' w'n ydeth' wklh klhwn 'rz' w'de nbywth' by thhw' w'n
If I have the gift of prophecy, and know all mysteries and all knowledge; and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but don’t have love, I am nothing.

ܘܐܢ ܐܘܟܠ ܟܠ ܕܐܝܬ ܠܝ ܠܡܣܟܢܐ ܘܐܢ ܐܫܠܡ ܦܓܪܝ ܕܢܐܩܕ ܘܚܘܒܐ ܠܐ ܢܗܘܐ ܒܝ ܡܕܡ ܠܐ ܝܬܪ ܐܢܐ
'n' ythr l' mdm by nhw' l' wkhwb' dn'qd pgry 'shlm w'n lmskn' ly d'yth kl 'wkl w'n
If I give away all my goods to feed the poor, and if I give my body to be burned, but don’t have love, it profits me nothing.

ܚܘܒܐ ܢܓܝܪܐ ܗܝ ܪܘܚܗ ܘܒܣܝܡ ܚܘܒܐ ܠܐ ܚܣܡ ܚܘܒܐ ܠܐ ܡܫܬܓܫ ܘܠܐ ܡܬܚܬܪ
mthkhthr wl' mshthgsh l' khwb' khsm l' khwb' wbsym rwkhh hy ngyr' khwb'
Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud,

ܘܠܐ ܣܥܪ ܕܒܗܬܬܐ ܘܠܐ ܒܥܐ ܕܝܠܗ ܘܠܐ ܡܬܬܦܝܪ ܘܠܐ ܡܬܪܥܐ ܕܒܝܫ

doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil;

ܠܐ ܚܕܐ ܒܥܘܠܐ ܐܠܐ ܚܕܐ ܒܩܘܫܬܐ
bqwshth' khd' 'l' bewl' khd' l'
doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth;

ܟܠ ܡܕܡ ܡܣܝܒܪ ܟܠܡܕܡ ܡܗܝܡܢ ܟܠ ܡܣܒܪ ܟܠ ܣܒܠ

bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things.

ܚܘܒܐ ܡܡܬܘܡ ܠܐ ܢܦܠ ܢܒܝܘܬܐ ܓܝܪ ܢܬܒܛܠܢ ܘܠܫܢܐ ܢܫܬܬܩܘܢ ܘܝܕܥܬܐ ܬܬܒܛܠ
ththbTl wydeth' nshththqwn wlshn' nthbTln gyr nbywth' npl l' mmthwm khwb'
Love never fails. But where there are prophecies, they will be done away with. Where there are various languages, they will cease. Where there is knowledge, it will be done away with.

ܩܠܝܠ ܗܘ ܓܝܪ ܡܢ ܣܓܝ ܝܕܥܝܢܢ ܘܩܠܝܠ ܡܢ ܣܓܝ ܡܬܢܒܝܢܢ
mthnbynn sgy mn wqlyl ydeynn sgy mn gyr hw qlyl
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part;

ܐܡܬܝ ܕܝܢ ܕܬܐܬܐ ܓܡܝܪܘܬܐ ܗܝܕܝܢ ܢܬܒܛܠ ܗܘ ܡܕܡ ܕܩܠܝܠ ܗܘܐ
hw' dqlyl mdm hw nthbTl hydyn gmyrwth' dth'th' dyn 'mthy
but when that which is complete has come, then that which is partial will be done away with.

ܟܕ ܝܠܘܕܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܐܝܟ ܝܠܘܕܐ ܡܡܠܠ ܗܘܝܬ ܘܐܝܟ ܝܠܘܕܐ ܡܬܪܥܐ ܗܘܝܬ ܘܐܝܟ ܝܠܘܕܐ ܡܬܚܫܒ ܗܘܝܬ ܟܕ ܗܘܝܬ ܕܝܢ ܓܒܪܐ ܒܛܠܬ ܗܠܝܢ ܕܛܠܝܘܬܐ
dTlywth' hlyn bTlth gbr' dyn hwyth kd hwyth mthkhshb ylwd' w'yk hwyth mthre' ylwd' w'yk hwyth mmll ylwd' 'yk hwyth ylwd' kd
When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I felt as a child, I thought as a child. Now that I have become a man, I have put away childish things.

ܗܫܐ ܐܝܟ ܕܒܡܚܙܝܬܐ ܚܙܝܢܢ ܒܦܠܐܬܐ ܗܝܕܝܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܦܝܢ ܠܘܩܒܠ ܐܦܝܢ ܗܫܐ ܝܕܥ ܐܢܐ ܩܠܝܠ ܡܢ ܣܓܝ ܗܝܕܝܢ ܕܝܢ ܐܕܥ ܐܝܟ ܡܐ ܕܐܬܝܕܥܬ
d'thydeth m' 'yk 'de dyn hydyn sgy mn qlyl 'n' yde hsh' 'pyn lwqbl 'pyn dyn hydyn bpl'th' khzynn dbmkhzyth' 'yk hsh'
For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, even as I was also fully known.
